Fred S. Stephens
Recipient of the 2004 EASA Award
Fred S. Stephans (left) accepts the Exceptional Achievement Service Award from Woodrow S. McClure, Jr.
Mr. Stephens has been an active member of our Association for more than 55 years.
He is known to many for his commitment of service to the Association and fellow members. He served as a chapter officer and was a member of EASA’s Board of Directors for two terms. He has also served as chair of the former Technical Training Committee and was a member of the former Engineering Committee.
Today he is owner of S/W Enterprises-Commercial Equipment Co in Savannah, Georgia.
His commitment to service is evident in the nominating letters received.
(He) is one of those rare individuals who certainly has contributed much more to the motor rebuilding industry than he has taken. His dedication and spirit should certainly make this southern gentleman a noteworthy recipient.
Another letter read:
His work on developing new winding methods and motor shop equipment has enabled the motor repair industry to reduce costs and improve the quality of motor repairs. During my years of association with the original NISA and now EASA, I cannot remember any member who contributed as much to the technical improvement of our industry.
